The incentives include:
(a) Access to improved inputs - seeds, livestock breeds, fertilizers, and agro-chemicals;

MINIMUM CRITERIA TO QUALIFY FOR REGISTRATION AS A FARMER

i. Proof/evidence of right- of-use of a farmland
ii. Provide biometric details (Ghana Card)
iii. iii. Own a registered and active sim card

HOW FARMERS PARTICIPATE IN THE PFJ 2.0 PROGRAM

The PFJ 2.0 covers commercial small, medium and large-scale and organised peasant farmers. Farmers under the programme are registered biometrically and their farms georeferenced. Participating farmers are assigned to aggregators who facilitate access to comprehensive production inputs and services for farmers. Further elements of how farmers participate in the PFJ 2.0 are:

i. Farmer is assigned to an aggregator in a particular zone.
ii. Produce at least one of the prioritized commodities -maize, rice, sorghum, soya, tomato, onion, pepper, cassava, yam, plantain and poultry (broiler).
iii. Receive production inputs and services on credit and pay back in kind at harvest to the value of inputs and services received.

WHAT THE PFJ 2.0 PROGRAMME WILL PROVIDE TO THE FARMER

The farmer will receive the following as input credit:

i. Production inputs: Certified seeds, fertilizers, day-old chicks, vaccines, feed etc.
ii. Mechanization services: Mechanization services for land development, land preparation, sowing, spraying, harvesting etc.
iii. Support services: Agricultural extension services and veterinary and insurance services are provided on credit basis.

BENEFITS OF THE PFJ 2.0 PROGRAM TO THE FARMER

i. All production inputs and mechanization services are provided on credit at the beginning and during the production season.
i. Production inputs and mechanization services are provided as input credit at the beginning and during the production season.
ii. Access to ready market.
iii. No interest payment on input credit advanced.
iv. Production inputs and services are delivered to farmers.
v. No need to acquire loans for production.
vi. Improved access to extension services.
vii. Access to insurance services.
viii. Commercial small, medium and large-scale farmers and organized peasant farmers can participate in the programme.
