Mandate

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) is the lead agency responsible for developing and executing policies and strategies for the agriculture sector. The Ministry’s plans, programmes and projects emanate from the National Development Policy Framework and executed through the directorates and sector stakeholders.

Vision:
The vision of the Ministry is a modernised agriculture culminating in a structurally transformed economy and evident in food security, employment opportunities and reduced poverty.

Mission:
MOFA’s Mission is to promote sustainable agriculture and thriving agribusiness through research and technology development, effective agricultural extension services and other support services to farmers, processors and traders for improved livelihood.
